In this book, the author describes his four years with James Houck, the 95 year old member of the Oxford Group. James is the last living link to the spiritual roots of the Twelve Step movement. In addition to providing clear, concise directions on how to take the Four Steps, Wally describes in detail the Four Standards of Honesty, Purity, Unselfishness and Love; the Five C=s of Life- Changing; and the four page pamphlet on Prayer and Meditation written in the late 1930's titled AHow to Listen to God.
